Door Panel Restoration Kit Description, Options, and Costs
Door panel backs (the semi-rigid fiberboard of a door panel) have been remanufactured by first digitizing a used, but straight panel, then using a computor controlled router machine to cut the new panels
out of 3-ply plywood with a thickness of about 2.5mm, the original thickness of a stock unswollen, unwarped panel. The advantage of the plywood over the fiberboard is that if the plywood gets wet, it will
swell, then contract back to its original thickness when it dries. The original fiberboard will not shrink back to its original thickness when it dries.
The new panels have been compared to, and installed
on used doors, and have been created to be a PERFECT fit. All the holes line up and the best part is that all the panels we make are perfect all the same; there is no human error!
