Rear Panels
Our Side &
Rear Panels
Aardvarc offers Rear Side Panels & Rear Deck Parcel Tray Panels. For side panels we repair and recover our panels (in exchange for your) or your panels. Typical restoration includes reinforcing cracked or damaged original fiberboard and cover the panel with the material of your choice (vinyl or leather). This usually includes wrapping the armrest.
For rear parcel tray, we offer the raw 14” thick CNC cut plywood panel for you to wrap yourself or fully recovered panels.
Rear panel options are as follows:
A pair of rebuilt rear side panels, upholstered in gorgeous leather colors which closely match the original 2002 interior (they also match our door panels). These are built on your cores. (note: these do not have the bonded silver strips found on OEM panels.)
Early pre-1973 model cars have two-tone panels with black on top (black panels are all black, obviously), later model cars have one color. See our Photo Gallery for colors and detail photos.

This reproduction panel is meant to fit above and behind the stock bench seat, between the seat and the rear window. After 40+ years, many OEM versions are tired out and warped or ruined beyond repair. This panel has been professionally upholstered in original Marine Blue German Vinyl (the $50+/yd expensive material) to best match the original materials that came in the car from the factory nearly 50 years ago. The panel is wrapped in thin foam followed by the vinyl, and stapled into place on the back side.
The panel board is made of 3/16" plywood and has been remanufactured by first digitizing several used, but straight panels, then using a computer controlled (CNC) router machine to cut the new panel. The panel is about 2 times the original panel thickness to provide some rigidity and a thick enough substrate so you can upholster it and have enough thickness to allow upholstery staples to secure to the wood. The advantage of the plywood over the fiberboard is that if the plywood gets wet, it will swell, then contract back to its original thickness when it dries. The original fiberboard will not shrink back to its original thickness when it dries.
Includes 1 panel as shown.
